Despite widespread opposition the Search and Surveillance bill was reported back to Parliament and became law in April 2012. This Act abolishes two fundamental concepts of western law: the right to silence and the right not to incriminate oneself (the right not to participate on one's own prosecution). - We were a group formed to stop the Search and Surveillance Bill, a Bill passed by parliament in early 2012. Parts of it associated with surveillance devices and declaratory orders became law in April 2012; all of it will be law by April 2014. It must be stopped.
